For those of you who sit at a desk all day tension can build up in the shoulders and neck. It probably feels bad as the day progresses and by the time the day is over the tension has moved on to your lower back. To help combat tension at work, why not try office yoga? You can do it intermittently throughout the day and over time you will won’t feel tense.

Simple Yoga Poses

Neck Stretch – Sit in your chair without your back touching the back of your chair. Your head should be aligned with your spine. Inhale and exhale and drop your right ear to your right shoulder. Stay in that position for a few breaths and feel the stretch on your left side. Repeat on the other side.

Chair Twist – Sit on the chairs edge with the left side of your body facing the back of your chair. Make sure to keep your feet and knees together when doing this exercise. Place your hands on the back of the chair, inhale, straighten your spine and twist around the back of the chair from the bottom of your spine. Breathe deeply and release then switch sides.

Shoulder Rolls – Sit upright, align your spine and place your left ear on your left shoulder. Begin to roll your shoulder to the right side, back and back to starting position.
